Absolute shock and sadness. We have enjoyed several of the plays presented there and realized early on that Ed's passion and love for the arts was the factor in it's success. May his family remember his love for life in this difficult time.

"Absolute shock and sadness"is a fitting explanation of what we feel upon hearing of Eddie's passing.Eddie was passionate about all aspects of Aurora Arts Theatre, from the concession,to the art and to the performance. He could be found working from morning to night to fulfill the dream he worked on.He had a vision and dedicated himself to it.We share the loss and hope the family will find comfort and hope in the days to follow.Good-by Eddie it was great to work with you.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Mr. Chapa. We recently moved to Corpus Christi and had the pleasure of attending a performance at this new theatre. I am saddened because he promoted fine arts in this community. Surely he will be missed greatly...do hope and pray...and send much love to this family.

There are no words. I did not know Mr Chapa personally but I always looked forward to him announcing the plays and getting the audience ready for the play to start. How wonderful that he was able to do something he was so passionate about. My condolences to his lovely wife and family.

"...I do know God put me here on this earth for a reason. Even if it was only, like a stitch in this sweater, to hold on with one hand to the stitch that comes before me and with the other hand to the stitch that comes after. If that's all I was put here to do, it's still a mighty important thing. And it makes me a mighty important person." from Grace & Glorie, produced at the Aurora Arts Theatre
Ed created quite a sweater - let's each do what we can to keep it from unraveling.

I was deeply sad to hear about the passing of a great man. He was so kind and funny. He was always a joy to be around. He was a man with a dream who turned it into his legacy that will live on in his honor and memory. I am proud and honored to have been a part of it. It is an experience that I'll never forget. I didn't know him for very long, but it felt like we were friends for a while based on how we connected. I'm sure those who knew him can understand what I mean by that. My condolences to the Chapa family, to his wife, to his children. May God be with you to give you the strength to cope. Thank you, Ed, for your wisdom and your kindness. Thank you for seeing something in me and believing in me. Thank you for your support and encouragement. And thank you for your friendship and for all of the memories. I am grateful for the opportunity to have met you and to have been on your stage. It shows you how great of a man we have lost by seeing the impact a brief time with him has had on my life. You will be missed!

To Ed ... "do you ever cross my mind? ...yes, I miss you...and I never thought I'd be here on your stage with you not near...but I can hear your instruction - I feel your presence in the aire...can you see how touched my life?" I'm still drawn to the Aurora and I blow a kiss to your picture on my way in and on my way out...I feel a need to leave a message from you to all that enter as an actor in the dressing room..."LIVE THEATRE, BABY" ...ed chapa...there is a void in my life and in my heart...how did you get in there so quickly AND without me knowing? by the way, thanks for that...you wife, your brothers and their wives and all of the Chapa kids...you allowed me the gift of having such special people in my life - and after Charlie discovered me, you polished me and put me on display - whether I wanted the spotlight or not...you had such faith in me - which gave me the same for you...I love you Eddie and you live eternally in my heart...thanks Charlie - and thanks to Aurora herself...you and your family are the best gift I have been given from someone other than my own children...I love you, I miss you, and I will do all I can help to keep your dream alive and thriving in any way The Chapa's will have me...XO XO XO

Oh Eddie....we talked about "I Love You..." when you first cast it and I told you it was going to be amazing and I was RIGHT! Charlie said you had your hands all over this one and we can see your spirit in the entire show! You would be so proud! I will forever sit in Chapa Row and hear you laughing behind me!! We miss and love you Eddie!! xoxo

As I watched the show tonight, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change", I couldn't help but look in the corner for Eddie... I would hear Charlie laugh and remind me of Eddie. The moment of silence honoring Eddie tonight was a wonderful tribute to a man bigger than life itself.... "Live Theatre Baby, Live Theatre".....

They appear on the northern horizon in stark contrast to the night sky. northern lights undulate, dance, and emit a faint tinkling sound. You can create this effect on the stage using simple devices. Thanks a lot.
