Call for Directors: Coastal Bend

Aurora Arts Theatre is building a roster of directors for upcoming productions. We are seeking experienced and emerging directors based in the Coastal Bend who value collaboration, respect, and clear storytelling in an intimate space.

About Aurora Arts Theatre

• 108 seat community theatre in Corpus Christi
• 15 years of continuous live theatre in the Coastal Bend
• Focus on audience experience, disciplined rehearsal rooms, and clear communication

Who We Are Looking For

• Directors and assistant directors who live in or regularly work in the Coastal Bend
• Experience in community, educational, or professional theatre
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to work within a small venue and modest budgets while delivering a polished production

General Expectations

• Work under the leadership of the Executive Director
• Collaborate closely with the Artistic Director and Creative Director
• Lead auditions and casting in coordination with Aurora leadership
• Create and follow a clear rehearsal schedule
• Be present for scheduled rehearsals and tech week
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and accountable rehearsal environment
• Shape the artistic vision of the production while aligning with Aurora standards and brand
